A website for an American Salon and Day Spa chain was not performing well in the major search engines. 3seven9 was asked to improve the site to attract new customers through search engine optimisation (SEO).

The Challenge

Shapes Salon & Day Spa had a website that was not bringing in new leads. It wasn’t optimised for the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc) and visitors from search engines only came from direct searches.

They weren’t ranking for any search phrases surrounding the local area offering their services, e.g. “day spa Herndon, Virginia”.  3seven9 were asked to change this.

Our Solution

We took a 3 pronged approach and tackled the following areas:

1) Optimised all site content and meta information

2) Analysed and actioned the findings from competitors back linking strategies

3) Addressed Shape’s hosting solution to improve relevance.

The Results

These changes were implemented over a month which resulted in dramatic changes in traffic to the site.  SEO based traffic increased from 11% to 73% of all traffic in one year.

Shapes began ranking for highly competitive State phrases – not just local competitive phrases and took the first page (and often the first position) for over 20 targeted phrases, e.g. “day spa herndon”.
